The North Sewickley Township Cemetery has a long history, founded almost 200 years ago by the Mercer family, when their family settled in the area after the Revolutionary War. These graves now mark the final resting spots of some of the first white settlers in this region, to people who received property as payment for their service in battle for the United States’ independence.
