About

Approximately 3 years ago a group of concerned family members and friends of the North  Sewickley Cemetery met to discuss the less than satisfactory condition of the cemetery and what could be done to improve it.  As a result of the lack of funds and help, the general condition of the cemetery had deteriorated to an unacceptable level.  We developed a core group of people dedicated to returning the cemetery to a more respectable and beautiful condition.

The cemetery was divided into sections and groups volunteered to clear trees, overgrown shrubs, and brush, weed-whack weeds, and mow the grass in their assigned section. This work has been going on during the past two growing seasons. The results are truly amazing and those volunteers are to be commended for their perseverance and hard work. If you have not visited the cemetery recently I am sure that you will be impressed and pleased with the improvement. There is still a lot of work to be done and we need your help.

An integral part of the resurrection of the North Sewickley Cemetery was the formation of a new and functioning North Sewickley Cemetery Company Board of Trustees. That task has been completed through the committee’s work along with the generous help of a local attorney. In doing so the attorney closely followed the historical North Sewickley Cemetery Company by-laws, state and local regulations and laws.
